Water pollution has a greater capacity to kill fish in the summer, the Minister for the Environment has warned. "Extreme care is required in relation to all waste handling and disposal practices, particularly at this time of the year," Mr Howlin said.

"Irresponsible actions by a small number can have serious consequences for the wider community."
