The High Court will hear an application today by two men who are trying to prevent the removal of two metres of walled ditch at Carrickmines on the site of the South Eastern motorway in Dublin.

Mr Dominic Dunne and Mr Gordon Lucas are seeking an injunction stopping Dún Laoghaire Rathdown Council from removing the section of ditch.

Mr Dunne and Mr Lucas were granted leave last Wednesday to notify the council of their plan to seek an interlocutory injunction. This followed the securing of an interlocutory injunction by the council last week, restraining people from trespassing on the site.
