Lleyton Hewitt and Andre Agassi, the world's number one and two ranked players respectively, have both suffered shock defeats at the Masters Cup in Shanghai today.
Australian wonderkid Hewitt was beaten by Spain's Carlos Moya 6-4 7-5, a result that will draw a sigh of relief from Agassi who was earlier eliminated by Czech star Jiri Novak 7-5 6-1.
The American is the only player capable of knocking Hewitt off top spot, but his chances looked to have fallen by the wayside today prior to Hewitt's defeat.
Earlier the number three seed Marat Safin of Russia was beaten in three sets 3-6, 6-4, 6-3 by another Spaniard, Albert Costa.
