Heroin worth €7m seized in Dublin

Heroin with an estimated street value of €7 million has been seized in west Dublin.

Heroin with an estimated street value of €7 million has been seized in west Dublin.

A total of 32 kilograms of heroin were found when gardai searched a van in the Palmerstown area of the capital yesterday.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and a woman, also 35, was arrested after follow-up searches in various locations. Both are being questioned in Clondalkin Garda station under Section 2 Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act.

Gardai also seized a number of vehicles for examination.

Officers from the National Drugs Unit, the Air Support Unit, the Garda Technical Bureau joined gardai from Ballyfermot and Clondalkin in the operation.
