"SEXUAL Harassment in the Workplace: On Whose Terms Progress Or Failure?" is the title of a public seminar being held tomorrow in Trinity College, Dublin at 1 p.m. The seminar, hosted by the Centre for Women's Studies, will be addressed by Fiona Tiernan, an equal opportunity consultant, in Conference Room 2026 in the Arts Building. All are welcome.

THE Dublin Rape Crisis Centre needs volunteers to train as telephone counsellors, to stuff its 24 hour counselling lines outside office hours. Comprehensive training will be given. THE Irish Hard of Hearing Association spring term of lip reading classes begins in a number of Dublin venues next week with a choice of morning or evening sessions. Locations include Drumcondra, North Frederick Street and Stillorgan and classes will be formed in the Tallaght area if demand dictates. Social groups and classes are up and running in Kilkenny, Cork, Limerick and Sligo and information on all areas can be obtained on 01-4502701 and 01-2693491. ON Thursday next a seminar on addiction management is taking place at the Rutland Centre, Templeogue, Dublin. The full day programme is aimed at general practitioners, to help them with the growing number of drug related problems being presented in surgeries. Key topics and speakers in Dr John O'Connor, clinical director of the National Drug Treatment Centre, on "Detoxification And Drug Management"; Maura Russell, director of the Rutland Centre on "Addiction And The Family, Presenting Problems In The GP's Surgery" and "Family Mobilisation And Intervention"; and Dr Aidan Meade, chairman of the Sick Doctor Scheme on "A GP's Perspective On Addiction Management".

THE Irish Foster Care Association, Dublin Branch, is holding an agm and social evening in Wynn's Hotel, Dublin tomorrow at 8.30 p.m. Members and non members welcome.

ON Saturday, February 1st the Irish Association for Counselling and Therapy will present a workshop "Sexual Abuse: Working With Offenders" in the Doyle Tara Hotel, Dublin. The workshop is aimed at counsellors, social workers, probation offices, nurses, doctors, solicitors, gardai, careworkers, teachers and all in the caring professions with access to children. GREYSTONES Cancer Support is having a Would You Like To Stop Smoking? information meeting with St Vincent's Hospital, Dublin, Department of Preventive Medicine at 8.30 p.m. in the La Touche Hotel, Greystones, Co Wicklow. The meeting is open to all and the support group hopes a stop smoking course will follow. The group has a drop in and care centre at Westview, Church Road (above Charlie's Vegetables) in Greystones each Wednesday and Saturday morning, 10.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m.

CHRISTIE'S, in conjunction with Hamilton Osborne King, will be holding a fine art seminar on Irish and continental paintings and 18th century Irish furniture on Friday, February 7th at 10 a.m. at the RDS, Dublin. All proceeds will go to the Down Syndrome Association. There will be lectures, a buffet lunch and valuations of guests' own antiques.
