Leeds full-back Ian Harte fears he may not have a future at the Elland Road club.

Leeds full-back Ian Harte fears he may not have a future at the Elland Road club.

The Republic of Ireland international has not played for Leeds since the 2-0 home win against Birmingham on New Year's Day.

Harte said: "It would break my heart if I had to leave - but I'm not sure if I have a future there any more. Terry Venables told me to lose a bit of weight, which I did, but it hasn't made any difference.

"I've been to see the manager three times but he just won't tell me why I am no longer part of things.

"Every time I go to see Mr Venables we have a good chat. "He says he likes the way I play and my passing and then I don't get picked.

"I'm prepared to do anything he wants to get back in the side, but he won't say what I'm doing wrong. I don't know whether he fancies me or not," Harte said.

"I'm not attacking Terry Venables here," he said. "He is one of the nicest men I've ever met and a terrific manager. His door is always open to anyone who wants to talk about things. But I am not getting any answers. I just want him to be honest with me".
