Loyalist leader Mark Haddock was charged last night with the murder of 39-year-old John Harbinson in 1997. He was beaten to death in the Mount Vernon estate in north Belfast.
Haddock was also charged with the attempted murder of a 37-year-old man and grievous bodily harm against a 37-year-old man.
He will appear in court in Belfast today.
