Milan - The ex-wife of slain fashion mogul Maurizio Gucci said yesterday she was blackmailed to pay 500 million lire (£280,000) for the murder of her former husband but it was worth every penny. Ms Patrizia Reggiani Gucci, told a Milan court her fortune teller friend Ms Pina Auriemma had organised the 1995 murder, knowing how badly she wanted Gucci dead, and presented her with the bill afterwards.

"At first I felt blackmailed, then I rationalised it: they had done something I always longed for. I paid 500 million lire for something I desired," Ms Reggiani whispered calmly.
