The Hong Kong based conglomerate Hutchison Whampoa said this morning it has no plans to sell or place out its remaining shares in Vodafone.

A company spokeswoman rejected market rumours in Londona large placement in Vodafone was taking place with Hutchison Whampoa the most likely seller.

"We would like to deny the rumour. There are no plans [to sell the shares]," she said.

Hutchison Whampoa has a 3.47 per cent stake in Vodafone, she said.
