London - Accused rapists in Britain are to be prevented from cross-examining their victims in court, the Home Secretary, Mr Jack Straw, said in an interview published yesterday.

Mr Straw told the Times newspaper he was disturbed by cases in which rape victims had been traumatised when they were questioned at length in court by the men accused of assaulting them.
