London - Greenpeace said last night it was talking to British Petroleum to try to settle the £1.4 million legal battle which it claims threatens its survival. The environment group said its directors were trying to clarify the oil giant's statement on Tuesday that it was ready to suspend its damages claim if campaigners did not hinder the company's search for oil west of Shetland.
