ATHENS - Greek naval forces yesterday picked up a Turkish pilot who bailed out of his F-16 fighter after being intercepted by Greek warplanes over the Aegean. The defence ministry said a Turkish fighter pilot had radioed as he was intercepted by two Greek Mirage 2000s near the island of Chios.

Greek fighter aircraft were scrambled more than 40 times to intercept Turkish planes on Monday, the ministry said.
