Snooker:Wexford's Rodney Goggins continued his march toward the Irisheyespoker.com Irish championships with a convincing 5-1 victory over Carrick On Suir's Stephen Walsh today in Carlow.

The No.1 seed compiled breaks of 68 and 72 in the last two frames to seal the victory and book himself a quarter-final match against Dublin's Robert Murphy.

Murphy defeated Wexford's Joe Delaney 5-2 in their encounter while in the other two matches Kilkenny's John O'Sullivan and Limerick's John Torpey made it though to face each other in Saturday's quarter-finals.
