The GMX electrical plant in Thurles, Co Tipperary, which employs 230 people, will not close before December 31st, the Minister for Defence has said, writes Eibhir Mulqueen.
Mr Smith, whose constituency covers the north Tipperary area, yesterday said the commitment had been secured from executives of the parent group, Moulinex Brandt, whom he and Shannon Development representatives met at the weekend.
