Two people died in road accidents yesterday, one of them a three-year-old girl. The girl was killed just before midday when a woman pushing her buggy attempted to cross the road at Lyster Square, Portlaoise, Co Laois. The buggy was hit by a car and the child was pronounced dead at Portlaoise General Hospital.
A 57-year-old man was killed at Parnell Place in Cork yesterday afternoon when he was struck by a lorry while crossing the road.
