Gardaí are investigating the death of a three-year-old girl who drowned in a swimming pool at a hotel in Ennis Co Clare yesterday.
Rhiannon Loughnane from O'Callaghan's Mills Co Clare, was staying with members of her family at the West County Hotel in Ennis when the accident happened at around 3.40 p.m. yesterday, a Garda spokesman said.
It is thought she later returned to the pool alone and fell in unnoticed.
A post mortem examination will be carried out later today at Limerick Regional Hospital.
