Ryan Giggs has agreed to sign a new five-year contract with Manchester United in July 2001.

The deal will tie the Welsh international winger to the English champions until 2006, ending speculation he could quit the club after ten years.

The 27-year-old, who made his debut as a substitute against Everton in March 1991, is the latest big name to agree a new United deal. Jaap Stam, Andy Cole and Roy Keane have already agreed new deals.

"I'm really pleased to have agreed a new deal." Giggs said.

"I've had a fantastic time at United and I hope to enjoy as much success in the future as I have in the past ten years."
