Gardai are tonight seeking two men following a raid on a bank in Co Meath this afternoon.

The two men entered the Bank of Ireland in Ashbourne armed with a shotgun and with scarves covering their faces.

Both men were described as being in their early 20s around 5'4" and 5'5" in height and both were wearing blue trousers. One had a blue top while the other wore a white top.

No shots were fired and no one was hurt in the incident.

Gardai say they escaped with a substantial amount of cash and made their getaway in the direction of the hunters lane area.
