Gardaí name victim of Limerick road collision

Gardaí have named the man killed in yesterday's single-vehicle road collision in Limerick as William McGinley (28).

Gardaí have named the man killed in yesterday's single-vehicle road collision in Limerick as William McGinley (28).

Mr McGinley, from Clonbrusk, Athlone, Co Westmeath, died when his van crashed into a wall at Kyletaun, Rathkeale, shortly after 3.30am.

He was taken to the Midwest Regional Hospital where he later died.

His death brings to 322 the number of people who have been killed on the Republic's roads this year.
