Gardaí are investigating the death of a man who who was found unconscious near the bandstand in the Phoenix Park last night.

Gardaí are investigating the death of a man who who was found unconscious near the bandstand in the Phoenix Park last night.

Gardaí were called to the scene close to Dublin Zoo at around 9 p.m.

The man was taken to James Connolly Memorial Hospital in Blanchardstown where he died some time later.

The State pathologist Dr John Harbison will carry out a post-mortem on the man later today. Details such as his name and age have not been released.
