Gardaí are hunting for a gang of armed men who seriously assaulted a Co Louth businessman and tied up his family during an attempted robbery.
Last night’s attack on the couple and three children at their home in at Dromiskine, just outside Dundalk, left the man recovering in hospital with extensive injuries.
The raiders demanded cash from the man, but eventually escaped empty-handed, a garda spokesman said.
