Gardaí find €40,000 drugs in Clare

Gardaí in Co Clare have uncovered heroin and cannabis with an estimated value of €40,000.

Gardaí in Co Clare have uncovered heroin and cannabis with an estimated value of €40,000.

Gardaí at Kilrush station assisted by the Garda dog unit searched open ground adjacent to John Paul Estate this morning.

A kilo of cannabis resin with a street value of €12,000 and 185 grams of heroin with a street value of €28,000 were recovered, a Garda statement said. The drugs will be subject to further analysis.

Drug paraphernalia, including weighing scales, was also seized.

A Garda spokesman said no arrests were made and that investigations were ongoing.
