Gardai in Donegal have launched an investigation into a violent assault on a woman in her early 30s in her Bundoran apartment in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The woman was attacked after her apartment off Central Lane was broken into early on Sunday.

Gardai in Ballyshannon have appealed to anyone who was in the area between 1 a.m. and 3 a.m. on Sunday to contact them on 072 41664 or 072 51102.

The assailant is described as tall and was wearing a long-sleeved denim shirt and dark coloured trousers at the time of the attack.
