Starting on Henry Street, the Commissioner’s lunch time shift took him through the city centre as part of the
Back to the Shop Floor
project, which has seen some of Ireland’s leading public figures rolling up their sleeves to raise money for cancer care.
He told ireland.comhe wanted to make sure he covered both the north and south sides of the river to stop people from either side of Dublin's traditional divide getting upset.
Other participants include Mr Liam O’Mahony of CRH, Mr Mike Soden of Bank of Ireland and Senator Feargal Quinn of Superquinn. Those participating have raised funds by inviting colleagues, suppliers and staff to sponsor their endeavours.
Irish Cancer Society chief executive Mr Barry Dempsey said: Back to the Shop Floor, provides an opportunity for the business world to have some fun on Daffodil Day and at the same time, make a real contribution to supporting people with cancer and their families."
