Detectives in Northern Ireland are hunting a gang believed to be responsible for three robberies in an hour.

At around 6pm yesterday young men threatened staff in a petrol station on the Belfast Road at Nutts Corner, Co Antrim.

The gang, who were wearing hooded tops and dark glasses, escaped with cash and drove off in a blue Honda Civic that was reported stolen earlier today.

Half an hour later, around 13 miles away, three men carried out a robbery at a service station on the Glenavey Road, outside Moira, Co Down.

A third raid, on a post office 17 miles away at Carlisle Circus in north Belfast, was staged by three men shortly before 7pm.

A PSNI spokesman declined to reveal details about the sums of money stolen but confirmed a link between the robberies was being investigated.
