Finance ministers from the Group of Seven industrialised nations have predicted there will not be problems in the medium-term for the US economy stemming from the September 11th attacks, a source at the Italian Treasury has said.

Citing a draft of a G7 statement to be released following a conference call held by the ministers, the source said the fundamentals for the US economy are still seen as good, even if the attacks could delay its recovery.
