London - The singer Frankie Vaughan, known to millions as Mr Moonlight, died in the early yesterday at the age of 71.

London - The singer Frankie Vaughan, known to millions as Mr Moonlight, died in the early yesterday at the age of 71.

The high-kicking star, who had hits throughout the 1950s and early 1960s, had surgery earlier this year after heart problems but was sent home from hospital last month. The singer was buried at 2 p.m. in keeping with Jewish tradition, a spokeswoman for his agent Peter Charlesworth said last night.
