Leicester have secured the services of former England international Les Ferdinand and French midfielder Lilian Nalis, ahead of the Foxes assault on the premiership, following promotion.

Ferdinand, 36, was a free agent after coming to the end of a short-term contract with relegated West Ham, whom he joined from Tottenham Hotspur last season.

Earlier on Friday Leicester manager Micky Adams bought Nalis from Italian club Chievo. Adams said on the Leicester website: "I am delighted Les has agreed to join us and that I have been able to bring in someone of his premiership quality and experience.

"He showed last season when he went to West Ham on loan that there is still plenty of life left in him and I certain that he will be a great acquisition for us.

Ferdinand began his league career at Queen's Park Rangers before moving to Newcastle, Tottenham and West Ham. He won 17 caps for England.
