Gardaí are today questioning four men after customers in a Cork pub were threatened with a shotgun.

Gardaí are today questioning four men after customers in a Cork pub were threatened with a shotgun.

A Garda spokesman said two men, one armed with a shotgun, walked into the pub in Ballincollig yesterday evening. A row followed between these two men and a customer in the pub. No shots were fired, and there were no injuries.

The two men fled in a car that was later spotted by a Garda patrol and was stopped three kilometres away at Poulavone roundabout.

Four men were arrested in the car, and two loaded shotguns were seized.

All four men are in their early 20s and are being detained under Section 30 of the Offences Against The State Act. Two are being held in Togher Garda Station, and the others are being questioned in Gurranabraher.
