Former attorney general Byrne joins DCC board

Former Attorney General David Byrne is one of three new appointments to the board of industrial holding group DCC.

Former Attorney General David Byrne is one of three new appointments to the board of industrial holding group DCC.

Mr Byrne joins the former non-executive chairman of Iona Technologies Kevin Melia and Donal Murphy managing director of DCC Energy, on the board.

Mr Byrne will join as deputy chairman on January 1st, 2009 while Mr Melia (non-executive director) and Mr Murphy (executive director) will take up their new roles from December 1st.

In a statement DCC said two non-executive directors Paddy Gallagher Tony Barry would be stepping down.
Once these changes are complete the DCC board will have six non-executive and three executive directors.
