A Kilkenny food trail guide was launched last night, aimed at bringing food lovers on a journey around the county’s artisan producers and food outlets.
The Taste of Kilkenny guide features 34 food producers, restaurants, cafes, speciality food shops and cookery schools. It also highlights craftspeople and walking and cycling routes along the trail.
The launch coincided with the opening day of the Savour Kilkenny Festival of Food, which continues all weekend.
The guide was co-funded by the Kilkenny Leader Partnership and its chief executive, Declan Rice, said the value of the artisan food industry must not be underestimated. Food critic John McKenna, launching the guide, said it reinforced Kilkenny’s position as one of our richest food counties.
