Flooding after a weekend of heavy rain in the east of the country is causing problems for motorists this evening.

Lower Lucan Road between the Anglers Rest and the Straw Hall in the Strawberry Beds in Dublin is reported to be impassable.

The Ballycoolin Road in Blanchardstown is also flooded and reportedly almost impassable.

Severe flooding has also been reported on the Swords to Ashbourne road and also along the N7 on the south side of Kildare town.
