At least five people were feared dead and 35 injured after a coach overturned on the M25 motorway in Berkshire, England late last night.
Emergency services were called at 11pm to reports that a coach had left the carriageway between junctions 15 and 16, near Slough in Berkshire.
A Buckinghamshire fire service spokeswoman said the 57-seater coach overturned.
Four fire engines, eight ambulances and other support vehicles attended the scene of the accident, alongside officers from Thames Valley Police. Doctors were also working at the crash site, helping the injured. The coach did not catch fire but firefighters were helping to remove trapped passengers. It is believed to be the only vehicle involved in the accident.
Mr John Divall, spokesman for the Royal Berkshire Ambulance Service, said: "The incident has been declared a major incident because of the number of casualties involved and resources dedicated to it." The injured are being taken to either Wexham Park Hospital in Slough or Hillingdon Hospital in west London.
