Five British tourists were killed and 12 injured in a bus crash in Ecuador late last night, the British Foreign Office said.
A spokeswoman said : "17 British tourists were on board. The crash happened between Quito and Puerto Lopez.
"Five British nationals, unfortunately, died in the incident and 12 were injured." No further details were released.
