Fishermen urged to take up grants

Fishermen were urged yesterday to avail of a Government grants scheme to improve safety at sea. The Minister for the Marine and Natural Resources, Dr Woods, said now was the time for fishermen in the whitefish and shellfish sectors to take advantage of capital grants of up to 50 per cent of the cost of safety equipment. The grants are available under the £40 million whitefish renewal programme.
