A number of national and international potential owners have already shown their interest in the group.

The eight hotels for sale are at Dublin, Shannon and Cork airports; at Parknasilla and Killarney, Co Kerry; at Eyre Square and the Dublin Road (Corrib) in Galway city; and at Rosslare Harbour, Co Wexford.

The premises are available as an overall lot, individual lots or as various combinations of lots.

More than 80 per cent of Siptu in the Great Southern Hotels Group recently voted in favour of industrial action because of fears over its sale without agreements been reached on a number of issues, including pensions and redundancy terms.

Dublin Airport Authority agreed this week to accept recommendations by the Labour Courts for safeguarding workers' rights.
