Gardai investigating a £500,000 drugs seizure in Tubbercurry, Co Sligo, on Monday night arrested a fifth man yesterday. A man and a woman, two of four people arrested shortly after the drugs were found, were released without charge.
One man appeared in Sligo District Court yesterday in connection with the seizure, and another being questioned in Ballymote had his period of detention extended. The man arrested yesterday was taken to Manorhamilton Garda station for questioning. He is believed to be from the Sligo area.
The drugs haul, the biggest found in the west or north-west, included 20,000 ecstasy tablets and 20 kg of cannabis resin.
