The family of a man who died four days after he fell off a ladder while working at an animal rendering plant has secured €212,500 damages at the High Court arising from his death.

John O’Dwyer, a father of two, died on March 12th, 2003, after suffering injuries on March 8th after he fell. Arising from his death, his wife Mary (61), Spafield Crescent, Cashel, Co Tipperary, sued his employers, National By-Products, with a registered address at Wilton Place, Dublin.

Yesterday, Mr Justice John Quirke was informed the action had been settled for €212,500.
