An additional €20,000 is to be offered in bounties for hunters of feral mink.

The mink poses a danger to nesting birds such as the corncrake.

Minister for Heritage Jimmy Deenihan confirmed that €20,000 would be provided to the National Association of Regional Game Councils towards the payment of a bounty to hunters this year.
