Explosive device in Clonmel disarmed

The Army bomb disposal unit has disarmed an explosive device found by a member of the public in Co Tipperary.

The Army bomb disposal unit has disarmed an explosive device found by a member of the public in Co Tipperary.

The device was handed into Clonmel Garda station this morning. A Defence Forces spokesman said the device was made safe shortly after 2pm.

He added that 30 viable improvised explosive devices have been dealt with by the unit so far this year.
