Army bomb disposal experts have made safe an improvised explosive device (IED) in Co Dublin this afternoon.

Army bomb disposal experts have made safe an improvised explosive device (IED) in Co Dublin this afternoon.

The bomb disposal team were called to an address on Dublin Road in Sutton at about 3pm following a request by gardaí.

The team were able to make the device safe without needing to carry out a controlled explosion and the device was handed to gardaí for their investigation.

The area was declared safe at 3.40pm.
