An explosion heard in central Jerusalem this evening was caused by the apparently accidental explosion of a gas cannister inside a shop, police said.
Nobody was hurt in the blast which caused heavy damage to the store near the city's outdoor Mahane Yehuda market, police spokesman Shmuel Ben-Ruby said.
Rescue services had earlier said several people were hurt.
