`IF God is with us, it'll really be special," said a very soft spoken Michael Flatley at this week's launch of his new show, Lord of the Dance. The promoters promise that the show which will be staged in the Point for one week only, will combine rock'n'roll staging with Michael's own special talents. Indeed, according to the purple prose in the press release: "Whatever spark was ignited in Michael Flatley at conception or birth has grown into a mighty and many tongued fire."

Harry Crosbie is certainly someone who can stand the heat he has already reserved the best seats in the house for the opening night and is currently co-ordinating a gala charity opening on July 2nd bin aid of the Children of Chernobyl Project and the Variety Children's Fund.

The team behind the Lord of the Dance is certainly impressive, headed up by Michael's manager John Reid, who is better known as Elton John's manager, and the designer is Jonathan Park who has worked with the Rolling Stones and U2. After the very brief outing in Dublin, the show will travel. As its promoter Harvey Goldsmith said: "We've got a lot of countries to do."
