The ESB was fined £1,000 at Nenagh Court yesterday for breaching the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act following the death of a woman from a collapsed overhead power line.
The case was brought by the Health and Safety Authority after it investigated the death of Mrs Catherine Kennedy (72). at her farm near Toomevara, Co Tipperary, last December 1st.
