Language schools specialising in teaching English as foreign language attracted
150,000 students to Ireland last year and generated £180 million for the economy, a Dublin seminar was told. Mr Jim Ferguson, chief executive of the Advisory Council for English Language Schools, said it was crucial that standards were maintained.
