Santiago - Judge Juan Guzman Tapia yesterday asked an appeals court to lift the immunity from prosecution accorded to the former dictator, Gen Augusto Pinochet, so that he may face trial, a court lawyer said.
Gen Pinochet yesterday won a final order in the London High Court for the British taxpayer to pay another £500,000 of his legal costs, at the end of a saga which has cost the public purse millions of pounds.
