A man in his early 60s was pronounced dead on arrival at the Mater Hospital last night after a house fire in Dublin city centre.
The fire occurred at St Joseph's Place, off Dorset Street and had destroyed the living room before the fire brigade was called to the scene at 7.30 p.m.
The Garda spokesman added that there were no suspicious circumstances surrounding the fire.
