A woman is being detained in relation to an attack on an elderly couple in their home in the East Wall area of Dublin earlier today.
The couple, who are in their 70’s, were assaulted in their home on Merchants Road in East Wall at about 12.15 a.m. They are now being treated in hospital for their injuries.
A woman in her 20’s is now being held in Store Street Garda Station under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act in connection with the incident. She is due to appear in a Dublin district court this afternoon, a garda spokeswoman said.
