Eircom appoints new CEO

Eircom has appointed Paul Donovan as the group’s new chief executive officer.

Eircom has appointed Paul Donovan as the group’s new chief executive officer.

Mr Donovan who spent nine years with Vodafone will take up the position on July 1st this year.

His previous roles include being chief executive of Vodafone Ireland for three years and has recently served as Vodafone chief executive for central Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific.

Eircom chairman Ned Sullivan, congratulated Mr Donovan on his appointment by saying his “vast industry experience” will be critical in leading the company through future challenges.

Mr Donovan will take over from the company's acting chief executive Cathal Magee.
