Eircell has announced that it had completed the acquisition of Person to Person (P2P), the Irish nationwiie mobile phone retailer.

The mobile operator previously owned 51 per cent of the company and today finalised details of the deal which will see it acquire the remaining 49 per cent from the Sigma Group.

Eircell now fully owns four of Ireland’s leading mobile phone retailers; P2P, Lets Talk Phones, Western Cellular and Talk to Me, bringing the total number of Eircell-owned retail stores to over 80 with employee numbers exceeding 300.

P2P has a total of 20 outlets and 120 staff and has been in operation since 1996.

Commenting on today’s announcement, Mr Stephen Brewer, CEO, Eircell, committed to continue to grow the retail division and the number of Eircell outlets throughout the country.
